Local Nature Recovery Strategy
Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) are a new, England-wide system of spatial strategies that aim to halt and reverse declines in biodiversity and deliver wider environmental benefits. Surrey County Council (SCC) is responsible for preparing the LNRS for Surrey and are aiming to consult on the draft strategy in early 2025. Woking Borough Council acts as a supporting authority and will collaborate with SCC on the development of the LNRS. Work is currently underway but further details, including how to get involved in the future, please see here.
It is important that everyone (e.g. local communities, residents, businesses) across Surrey have the opportunity to feed into the development of the LNRS. If you would like to get involved and hear more about ongoing activites please see here: Have Your Say Today - Local Nature Recovery Strategy - Commonplace and complete the survey/map areas of nature important to you.
This page will be updated as further information becomes available.
